Privacy Policy

1. Overview

MediMAR Personal is a medication reminder, personal medication administration record, diary and stock-management application for an individual managing their own medication on an iPhone or Android device.

MediMAR does not require a MediMAR account. The current version does not operate a MediMAR-controlled health-data server and does not send your medication information, administration history, diary entries, health readings or photographs to MediMAR Ltd.

2. Information stored by MediMAR

MediMAR may store medication details, schedules, administration outcomes, actual administration times, amendments, warning overrides, optional reference photographs, reminder preferences, diary and wellbeing entries, health readings, stock supplies, adjustments and re-order acknowledgements. This information is stored locally within the app's protected storage and used only to provide the features you choose to use.

3. Camera, photographs and microphone

MediMAR requests camera access only when you choose a feature that needs it. An optional medication reference photograph is stored locally. A photograph taken during an administration check is processed on the device for that check and is not retained. The result of the check may remain in the administration audit.

If you use the voice assistant, MediMAR requests microphone access while listening. Recognition is provided by the device's speech-recognition service. Depending on your device and settings, Apple, Google or the device manufacturer may process speech under its own privacy terms. MediMAR Ltd does not receive the recording or recognised command.

4. Notifications and device services

If enabled, MediMAR uses the notification, alarm and biometric services supplied by iOS or Android. Notification content may be visible on a locked device or connected wearable according to your system settings. Biometric authentication is performed by the operating system; MediMAR does not receive or store your fingerprint or facial biometric data.

5. Reports, sharing and encrypted backups

MediMAR can create medication, administration, diary, mood and health PDF reports. A report remains on your device unless you choose to share, save or print it. The destination you select controls the resulting copy.

MediMAR can also create a password-protected encrypted personal backup. It may include medication and administration history, diary entries, stock records and saved reference photographs. You control its password and destination. MediMAR Ltd cannot recover the password or access the backup.

6. Collection, analytics, advertising and tracking

The current app does not collect personal or health information on behalf of MediMAR Ltd, use advertising identifiers, track users across apps or websites, include third-party advertising or use third-party app analytics. MediMAR does not sell personal information.

7. Apple, Google and backup services

Apple and Google control their app stores, purchase services, notifications, device backups and operating systems. Information stored by MediMAR may be included in an iCloud, Google or manufacturer device backup if you enable that service. A report or encrypted backup may be sent to a cloud-storage provider only when you choose that provider through the device's share or file controls. Those providers process information under their own terms.

MediMAR does not currently use CloudKit, Firebase or a MediMAR cloud service to synchronise medication or health records between devices.

8. Retention and deletion

Detailed administration records—including associated warning overrides, photo-check outcomes and corrections—are normally retained on your device for 90 days. Related audit records are removed together so that a correction is not separated from its original record.

Records needed for an active short course are retained until the course is complete, after which the normal retention period applies. Information required for MediMAR's defined 28-day reporting cycle is also preserved.

Medication details remain until you amend or archive them, delete the app, or erase the device or its backup. Records required to interpret retained administration history are not removed independently. Ordinary diary entries remain until you delete them; automatically generated PRN follow-up records remain linked to their administration audit. You must manage exported reports and backup copies through the destination where you saved them.

9. Security

MediMAR relies on the operating system's application sandbox, device encryption and access controls. Local app records and personal backup files use encryption, and MediMAR offers an optional App Lock. You are responsible for protecting your device, passcode, Apple or Google account and backup passwords.

10. Children

MediMAR Personal is intended for a person managing their own medication. A child should use it only where appropriate and with involvement from a parent, guardian or healthcare professional.

11. Your rights and contact

Because the current app does not send personal or health information to MediMAR Ltd, we generally do not hold app information that we can retrieve, correct or delete for you. You can manage local information within MediMAR and remove it by deleting the app. Questions about this policy can be sent through our protected contact form.

12. Changes

We may update this policy when MediMAR's features, legal requirements or data practices change. The latest version and effective date will appear on this page.
