Record the medicine, strength, form, dose, timing and supplied directions in one place.
Has a medicine—or the way you take it—recently changed?
A new name, strength, dose or time can disrupt a familiar routine. MediMAR helps you organise the current directions, receive reminders and keep a clear personal record of what actually happened.
Available forAndroidEven one change can affect the whole routine.
A medicine may be completely new, replace an earlier treatment, use a different strength, move to another time of day or be intended only for a short period. Old packs and previous habits can make the current instruction less obvious.
MediMAR provides structure, but it cannot reconcile conflicting clinical information. Use the latest pharmacy-labelled pack and written instructions, and ask a pharmacist or prescriber whenever anything is unclear.
Confirm the medicine, strength, form, dose, frequency and any additional directions before setting reminders. Never infer a change from the appearance of a pack or tablet alone.
Turn the latest instructions into a routine you can follow.
See medicines due at the same time together, rather than managing a collection of unrelated alarms.
Save an optional reference image of the current pack as a visual prompt when identifying the medicine.
Capture what was taken and when, including missed, refused or not-required outcomes where relevant.
Use the diary for symptoms, side effects, effectiveness observations, mood or supported health readings.
Create a personal MAR or contextual report for your own review or a conversation with a healthcare professional.
Ask whether the New Medicine Service is available to you.
NHS England’s New Medicine Service is provided through participating community pharmacies. It offers additional support to eligible people who have been newly prescribed a medicine for specified conditions, helping them use it appropriately and raise concerns with a pharmacist.
MediMAR is independent of the NHS and does not replace this service, a pharmacist consultation or clinical follow-up. It can give you a structured personal record to support a more informed conversation.

Before adding a new or changed medicine
Can MediMAR decide how I should take a new medicine?
No. MediMAR helps you organise and record the directions supplied by your prescriber and pharmacist. It does not prescribe, verify a dose or decide which instruction is correct.
What should I do if the label and my written instructions are different?
Do not guess or choose between them yourself. Contact the pharmacy, prescriber or relevant healthcare team for clarification before taking the medicine.
Is MediMAR part of the NHS New Medicine Service?
No. MediMAR is an independent personal app. The NHS New Medicine Service is provided by participating community pharmacies for eligible people and medicines.
Can I show my record to a pharmacist or prescriber?
Yes. You can choose to create and share a personal report. It reflects information entered or confirmed by you and is not an independently verified clinical record.
