For iPhone and Android

A pill reminder that records what actually happened.

MediMAR helps people managing their own medicines see what is due, receive a reminder, record the actual outcome and build a useful personal medication history.

Why reminders need context

Knowing a dose is due is only the beginning.

A basic pill reminder can prompt someone at a chosen time. It may not show enough information to identify the medicine confidently, record whether the dose was taken or preserve the actual administration time.

MediMAR brings the medicine name, dose, scheduled time and optional reference photograph together. The user then records the outcome as taken, refused, missed or not required, creating a history that can be reviewed later.

Prescribed schedules remain unchanged

Recording a late dose does not silently move the prescribed regimen. Any one-off later reminder remains an explicit user choice.

44%lower odds of death were associated with good medication adherence.

Finding from a meta-analysis of 21 observational studies involving 46,847 participants. Association does not prove causation, and this is not a claim about MediMAR. Read the evidence →

Core capabilities

What to look for in a medication reminder app.

Clear due rounds

Medicines due at the same time are grouped into one understandable medication round.

Meaningful safety prompts

Timing, PRN limits and cumulative paracetamol checks can add context without changing the prescribed instructions.

Actual administration records

The record shows what happened and when, rather than assuming every reminder resulted in a dose.

Reviewable reports

Create a 28-day personal MAR chart and other reports from the information the user chose to record.

Optional stock control

Track supplies, deductions, low-stock levels and relevant expiry or opening information.

Private by design

No MediMAR account is required; current medication records remain in protected storage on the phone.

Who it is for

Personal support for independent medication use.

MediMAR is designed for an individual managing their own medicines. With the user's agreement, a relative may help enter information or review a report, but the app does not create professional administration accounts.

It is not a prescribing tool, clinical decision system or care-home eMAR. It supports the user in following the directions supplied by their prescriber and pharmacist.
