What is an eMAR system?
An eMAR is a professional electronic medication administration record used to help authorised staff record and review medicine administration within a care service or healthcare setting.
What an eMAR commonly supports.
Depending on the setting and system, an eMAR may provide staff access controls, medication rounds, administration records, missed-dose alerts, stock processes, audit trails, reporting and links with prescribing or pharmacy workflows.
These systems form part of an organisation's governed care process. Selection, configuration, staff training, information governance and clinical safety responsibilities sit with the provider and its suppliers.
